Crispy German Potato Pancakes


  • 2 egg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄4 tsp baking powder
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 1⁄4 tsp black pepper
  • 6 medium potato, peeled and shredded
  • 1⁄2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1⁄4 cup vegetable oil


  1. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Mix in potatoes and onion.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Working in batches, drop heaping tablespoonfuls of the potato mixture into the skillet.
  4. Press to flatten. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side until browned and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Enjoy!!
